"Thinking Higher" ...on what could be

Maybe you have heard about Oklahoma City’s renaissance in the national news?

Oklahoma City is not the same city it was twenty years ago. We have a different identity today. There has been a civic transformation that took place because a determined and visionary group of business and government leaders cast a vision for what could be. And that dream became reality.

Visionary business leaders two decades ago pressed into a civic dream. What if visionary Christian business leaders today pressed into a Kingdom dream? What if we led a greater conversation imagining what would happen if the realm of Christian business leveraged its unified influence toward an ever greater community of human flourishing? God told the exiles to seek the wellbeing of the city to which He had sent them (Jeremiah 29:7). Jesus prayed that believers would “be one” announcing that something so powerful would flow out of that unity that the world would believe that God the Father actually sent God the Son (John 17:20-21).

I believe it is the will of God (duh!) that we as believers move into a place of unity in this city – and beyond. I believe we can play a role in being the answer to Christ’s prayer that we “be one” – at least in this community to which God has sent us. Trust me, we pull that off, we will inspire our brethren in cities around the world. Our city, in yet another twenty years, will enjoy an even more profound sense of identity.

“Thinking Higher: Elevating the Conversation with OKC’s Business Community” on March 27th is the launch pad on which the Christian business community begins a conversation toward that unity and what that might look like. This will is a critical action step. You can play a role in that – even if you are not in the realm of business. Want to know how? Want to play a role in being the answer to Christ’s prayer? Come to “Thinking Higher” on March 27th.
